Serves 4-6

Directions:
1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees and drizzle one teaspoon of STAR Arbequina Extra Virgin Olive Oil into the bottom of an oven-safe baking dish.

2. In a small 8-inch skillet, add the butter and heat over medium heat. 
Continue to heat the butter until it turns lightly golden in color and smells nutty. Add in the breadcrumbs and stir to coat until the breadcrumbs have absorbed all the browned butter. Remove the skillet from the heat and set off to the side 

3. In a medium bowl combine the marinated artichoke hearts with chopped fresh parsley and black pepper. Place the artichoke hearts evenly on the bottom of the prepared oven-safe baking dish. 

4. Sprinkle the Gruyere cheese over top of the artichoke hearts, top with the browned butter breadcrumbs and bake for 10-15 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and the breadcrumbs are a deeper golden.

5. Serve and enjoy!

Artichoke Jalapeno Dip

Ingredients

  • 1 (14.75 oz) jar Cara-Mia Artichokes in Water, drained
  • 1 (8oz) package cream cheese
  • ½ cup mayo
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1 clove garlic
  •  ½ tsp salt
  •  ¼ tsp black pepper
  •  1 jalapeno, seeded and chopped

Directions
Add the artichokes to the bowl of a food processor. Process until chopped. Add the chopped jalapeno and clove of garlic, and pulse until finely chopped. Add remaining ingredients, and process until well combined.

 Let sit at least an hour before serving.

Serve warm or cold with pita chips, tortilla chips, crackers or veggies

Cara Mia brand was started by an artichoke grower co-op in 1955, in the “artichoke capital” of the world, Castroville, CA. The co-op opened as a freezer operator with the intent of providing consumers another means to enjoy the edible thistle all year around.
